Away from my business and work background covered elsewhere:​

I am a pragmatic logical thinker, I love solving problems, I like simplicity and have a very good understanding of “Best Business Practices”.​ I think we would all agree that at the end of the day, we can have all the credentials in the world, but we nearly always choose a person that we like and respect and have the necessary credentials.​

​

I was born on the Isle of Man (IOM), known as a Manxman. The Manx national flag consists of Three Legs, joined at the centre point. The “triskelion”, known as the Three Legs of Mann, is a symbol where each leg represents power, life and the sun. In some presentations, the flag is surrounded by a garter and in Latin once translated says “whichever way you throw me I shall stand”. It certainly gives you food for thought, as you face life’s daily challenges in business and personal life.​

Most of my life however was spent in Sydney Australia, another great country and I have lived in the UK for around 10 years with my Partner.​ We each have a married daughter, with three lovely Grandsons.​

Clearly fast wheels caught my attention and have been a big focus for me. I have been lucky enough to attend over 60 F1 races in a variety of countries. I passed some of that passion on to my partner, which makes life easier, and she often laughs that my commentary is always ahead of the on-screen commentators.​

​

I have owned over 40 cars and 6 motorcycles, including some rare Australian Touring Cars such as a Holden Torana GTR XU1 and a VN Commodore Group A. ​I have also owned a few British motorsport iconic touring cars such as two Ford Capri 3000 GT V6’s, and a Ford Escort GT1600 (Lotus).​ My favourite car was a BMW E39 540i Motorsport.​

I enjoy watching the high-level football games, rugby and cricket when time allows.​ Another love of mine is music and from being a teenager singing in a group, this has followed me through life, with some of my favourite artists being:​

Bruce Springsteen, Eric Clapton, Mark Knopfler, Cold Chisel (Australian Rock Band), Pink, Rolling Stones, The Highwaymen, and various Americana music artists.​ I also enjoy any type of live music as I believe that music brings people together.​

Great wine and good food are also sources of pleasures and this fits in nicely with spending quality time with family and good friends. ​

I have a good all-round general knowledge and love testing it out on game shows, such as The Chase. I also love comedy.​
